Spore Vaporware?

wired.jpg Time to do a bit of catching up again. Spore news has been incredibly scarce over the last few months but occasionally something popped up that is worth mentioning. Now that the holidays are over, EA will surely have more time to focus on the games that they will release this year and new Spore news should pick up over the next few months.

Wired News isn't all that sure about Spore, calling it an Epic tease in their annual Vaporware list

We now know enough about the massive-multiplayer "god game" to get us salivating wildly. Players invent species, build ecosystems, grow civilizations and assemble vast armies of designer fauna to compete with one another in outer space, all accompanied by a generative electronic soundtrack by Brian Eno. Sounds dreamy, but so far, Spore is nothing but an epic tease.

Reader Telanis points out, "Even the ancient Greek gods didn't take this long to create a universe."

Not surprisingly, EA doesn't agree and is a lot more positive about the prospects of Spore. In fact, according to them, the game is already out. :)

Most of what wired has said there is practically wrong, pees me off when people make these types of predictions with out any true cold hard facts. And WTF EA? I want my spore already!

There are more stars than all of the grains of sand on earth.

You can see stars from the bottom of a well even in day light.

Stars with really strong gravity cause themselves to become smaller and smaller and eventually turn into black holes.
