Okay, that title would be a good entry for "Cheesiest news titles featured on HoSP" I would think. Either way, Spore seems to have been getting a lot of press. I was unlucky enough to arrive at EA's press booth on Saturday when the team demoing Spore had already left and were probably already celebrating their success with huge quantities of various intoxicating liquids. I did get to see Sim City Societies though, which was fun too. Luckier members of the press have been posting their findings en masse:

Kotaku: At a population of 40 you can create military land units, at 60 you can create sea units and at 80 you can create air units. These units balance one another out, and you can also build defensive weapons for your city. An interesting twist is that each city type, military, cultural or diplomatic, produces its own unique types of units and after you conquer or convert a city you can continue to produce those units from that city.

Eurogamer: Although you've got a finite selection of arms, legs, mouths and so on, there are plenty of choices to make. There are things like spines and horns to stick on, skin colours to choose from, patterns to add. You can manipulate your Creature's body as if it was a piece of clay, change the size of their hands, make their elbows stick out or increase the gap between their toes...

IGN: Our main creature has become a sort of chief or shaman and you can lead him and the two other members of the tribe in a variety of important tasks. First, as always, is the acquisition of food. Picking fruit from nearby bushes is all fine and dandy, but by now our creatures deserve something a bit more substantial. At the main hut, we spent some of the food we'd accumulated to build specialized huts that allow us to assign different roles to the tribe members.

VideoGameChat: You’ll also get to customize the clothes your creatures wear when they do different things. For example, specific outfits such as helmets and loincloths can be added to war paint to suggest which creatures are doing what at specific times.

So ehm... you have site named "hooked on spore" and didn't get to see it in the end huh...

Bummer! lol

At the end of the kotaku one it says devs are discussing weather or not to do an OPEN beta, that would be very very sweet.

There are more stars than all of the grains of sand on earth.

You can see stars from the bottom of a well even in day light.

Stars with really strong gravity cause themselves to become smaller and smaller and eventually turn into black holes.
