We’ve got a pretty awesome community here at HoSP, don’t we?
I think so too.
But.. lets take a moment to look at our numbers.
As of this moment we’ve got a total of 81447 posts in our forums, sweet.
We’ve also got a whopping 1059 users.
I’d like to dig into this a bit and show a few things I’ve found to be a little disappointing.
Take a look at the top 3 forum sections of our site, here.
81447 Total Posts
25867 Posts in Forum Games 32% of the total site posts
21174 Posts in Spore Chat 25% of the total site posts
12186 Posts in Intergalactic Tavern 15% of total site posts
I feel like we should have more posts in our main category than in something like Forum Games, which is more or less there to just bump post counts. Sure, there can be a place for forum games.. but when it feels like most of our site really just comes from, by a striking margin, nonconstructive games that I begin to feel like we need a change.
Its just kind of sad to see that our most active forum has nothing to do with our site’s purpose.
I really don’t see anything too disappointing about this. You notice Spore chat is only behind by about 1500 posts. Since most Forum Game posts consist of a single 4-digit number, it’s not hard to see why it got such a high post count. Considering how many successful Forum Games there are, I’d say you and the Admins are doing a great job of keeping Spam in check.
I don’t see why it matters to be honest, but whatever man.
Well, figure that if the community as a whole has so much time on their hands to play meaningless forum games on a spore site, when the game is released we will quickly get one heck of a HoSP sporepedia.
We have to look at the majority of people who post in the games forum.
