Intellectual Ramblings

You’ve all seen his posts. Clean, neat, usually with good spelling and sometimes with a smattering of coding. You may love him, hate him, or not give a Sh**, but who is he really? Earlier today, we got a chance to talk to the mysterious man.

Intellectual Ramblings: Thanks a lot for meeting us here today, Uber.

Uber-Gam3r: Not a problem. It’s great to be here.

IR: Tell us, where do you get the inspiration for your posts?

UG: Well, I’d like to say it’s from my family, but they really don’t care. I’d have to say most of my inspiration comes from the things I’m most interested in; Games and TV. I played the Monkey Island games over and over, and I watch a lot of Futurama.

IR: Interesting… what about your Spore creatures? Where do you come up with those strange abominations?

UG: Those are usually based on games, TV, and movies as well. I usually start making something I recognize and slowly alter it until it reaches the point where I either can’t add any more or it looks good. I also copy a lot of my early art.

IR: Art? Were you a painter at some point?

UG: No, I just liked to draw. I still have a few sketchbooks here and there filled with random doodles and game ideas. I hope to become a game designer at some point.

IR: I see… So what’s going on in your personal life? Any big news?

UG: Well, I turned in a Job Application to Gamestop yesterday… that was exciting. I’m also starting school soon.

IR: I understand you were homeschooled for a while.

UG: My whole life so far, yep.

IR: I see! How do you think that will affect your performance in public school?

UG: Well, I do have to admit I’ve never been very good in social situations, but that’s mostly a personal choice. My sister, [Name Undisclosed] is a major people person, and has tons of friends. I’m mostly going to try to stay in the background and get through school with good grades.

IR: A noble goal. I understand you are a member of a few forums. That must get you some social interaction.

UG: Yeah, I’m a member of HookedonSpore, and The Origins, which was actually started by someone I met on Hookedonspore. I’m pretty active, and try not to spam too much.

IR: What is this “The Origins” site?

UG: It’s a Roleplaying site started by Aerostasis, though he’s Chia on that site. It’s small, only about 37 members, but we have some good roleplays that have reached nearly 90 pages.

IR: Sounds fun! Do you do much roleplaying?

UG: I didn’t used to, but I got hooked when I played a RP game started by Sillmersimmer on Hookedonspore. Since then I’ve really enjoyed it.
